The end of the point and click era? Real Estate 3.0?

Are we already talking about Real Estate 3.0? I barely got started with 2.0! I was reading Brian Block's blog about the next generation of real estate and I remembered a touch screen technology where we can interact with clients the same way Tom Cruise did in the movie Minority Report.

The technology isn't too far away!

Just imagine walking over to your "wall" with your clients and showing a virtual tour or pulling up the MLS. Interacting with Google Earth with the touch of your fingers. No more keyboards.

Or taking your "screen" out of its protective case and giving a listing presentation as your photos automatically upload to a virtual program via Bluetooth.

Technology is coming at us so fast, we don't have time to catch up!

What is Real Estate 3.0? Or what is real estate 2.0? Sorry I am really behind.  I did see Minority Report. Fascinating concept.  I will have to check out Brian Block's blog.

Hi John

Just visited Brian Block's blog and saw his video campaign, which is really neat.  Thanks for leading me to that.  Also wanted to share there is huge blank on the lower half of your blog - picture not showing up -

I seem to have mised RE 2.0 and RE 1.0. Is it just for Realtors?

I'm a geek at heart, but sometimes technology comes at us too fast.  RE 3.0... Oy.

I heard that the average length of time we own a cell phone is 17 months -- think about the change that will be going on with cell computer technology -- iphone and what's next for real estate search -- gps for sure.

Technology is always moving so fast. The thing is there are thousands of people inventing new things every day and once a good idea sticks we are off on a new tangent!

Looking forward to the new tools!  Still, you will need salesperson skills, more than ever.

It's a Good Life!

It will be interesting to see what it brings to the real estate world.

Yes,  It's crazy how fast things are developing.  By the time I learn to use something, it's obscelete.  I use my tablet pc now to do stuff at client's home, but touch screen, high definition will be awesome!

I am with you. I am almost there with the web 2.0, so 3.0 needs to not come to fast! :-)

I think the most important thing for us to know that we are in the industry that the more technology savvy we are as professionals, the better that we can be for our buyers and sellers. Especially in the 2009, we will need to employee all the power we have to be successful and outshine our competition.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

John, I am also spinning to try and keep up. I just got a Twitter account last week and am plunging into a Social Networking plan for this year. I got a Tablet so I could handwrite and do signatures online. The touch interactive stuff is just awesome.
